August 13, 2021 Day 33
Yay! I got to see Patrick today! AND best news (in my mind anyway) He DIDN'T take away my vice away! Peanut Butter!!!! YAHOO! HA! I was really truly convinced he would. I admitted my cheats to him over the last month and while he wasn't cheering me on, he was happy I didn't have much negative results from eating the beet, potato, chips and salsa, etc...He did say it's really important to limit those cheats. We did NOT do Accupuncture today which was fine, we had about 90 minutes worth of symptom checking to go over. I do want to try Accupuncture though. He did give me quite the story about a man that may be able to reverse my back pain. Yes. Reverse. I'll have to write a bit more on that when I have the 'energy' to do so! HA! I am usually not good at making jokes, but this one counts, later! In his defense he did tell me it's a bit woo woo, but I'm kinda into woo woo....if it works. If it doesn't like all things (including this journey) what do I have to lose?
Overall a good day today with no real changes. I may have forgotten to mention in one of my blogs that the other night my leg pain was back! Only on my right leg though and it only lasted a few hours vs. all night. Thankfully. Patrick was overall pleased with what is happening so far, but really encouraged me to drink more water and add some salt to stay a bit more hydrated and to try to be much more mindful of what exactly is going on with my body. When I do have a cramp or a pain, or bumps on my skin I need to stop and really think about it. Is it from something I ate, and I stressed? Try to figure it out. Could it be die off? He listed many things to consider. Good day, felt good in general, even soaked in the hot tub!
Breakfast - 2 celery sticks with peanut butter
Lunch - Probably 2 more celery sticks with peanut butter
Dinner - Turkey burger wrapped in lettuce with onion and fresh corn on the cob (again gray area - corn is approved on the list but I don't think it's something I should eat often)
Snack - popcorn (I am going to try to cut back on this too! It's just so convenient and a light healthy/ish snack!)
One more thing about my visit today. Patrick did say that he likely will not add any more foods to my diet. Honestly I am ok with that. I am not craving/missing sugar, fruit, alcohol, or grains really. He also gave me a green veggie drink recipe that hopefully will help me get some more greens in my diet. I told him I'd drink it every day to which he quickly responded with a "don't do that you will get sick of it!" lol. He is probably right but I know it'll be what my body needs to maybe get a bit more regular. He wasn't too thrilled that I hadn't texted him to tell him that hadn't improved. Whoopsie - I'm just so used to it though! I thought this picture looked like a peanut butter rainbow - and therefore very fitting.
