July 24, 2021 - Day 13
Today was a good day! I couldn't eat breakfast until about 11, but I chalked that up and thought who care. Everything is going to be new and weird and bumpy for a bit. If I'm not hungry I'm just not going to force myself to eat anymore and if I am hungry I'll do my best to provide my body with whatever nutrient I feel it is craving. We went to the coast today and packed/planned ahead. Although I did cheat again with potato products and I snuck 2 blueberries and 1 grape, I overall had a good day. We had a rebound dinner that was practically perfect in every way. I had just basic grilled halibut and veggies and mashed potatoes (I had some bites but certainly didn't finish them all, not even close!
When I weighed myself this am, I was down 11.5 pounds so far which is just great and makes me super happy. It took me 9 weeks on paleo to drop 10 pounds! Of course I'm not doing this for weight loss - however that will be one of my favorite side effects to my wellness journey for sure! I plan to be back to super strict eating tomorrow and for the week of course. I actually have had little bouts of upset stomach (super tiny, nothing major!) and a headache while at the coast and into the evening. Could be the foggy weather at the coast, could be that my monthly visitor is randomly and unexpectedly visiting (My Mom suggests that it's my body doing some house cleaning - which I dig that idea!), or that I have had some potato products and shouldn't probably be having those carbs! I did get carrots with my dinner which I did not eat a single one. Not sure what has more sugar a potato or a carrot, but I felt good about not eating it. Still haven't had any sugar either! The boys (Jolie is at a wedding in Wa.) even stopped at Dairy Queen for blizzards on the way home! It smelled so good, but I didn't even have a tiny taste! :) I justified cheating with non added sugar foods like the potato, the fruit was a big no no but I had literally 2 blueberries and 1 grape.
I also made a plan this morning since I've allowed myself a little cheat this weekend here and there. My goal is to go all the way until our September Mackinac trip that we have planned before I allow any sugar cheats. Ideally I'd go the full 9 months and I suppose I'll see how I'm feeling come September. I may not even want to cheat. Mackinac is known for their homemade fudge and the smell on the island alone makes you drool. So if I feel so inclined I will allow myself 1 small square of fudge and potentially 1 small ice cream for the duration of our trip. Otherwise strict diet rules (I'll probably allow for some potato products then too just b/c we will likely be dining out a bit more than prepping at home). Otherwise it's veggies, chicken or fish. Patrick may add some fruit in by that time and possibly grains and corn, but we shall see. I'm excited to start week 3 and see how my full dose of herbs go. Week 3 starts Monday and I believe that is the same day I have my final increase of my herb dosage. I go up to 4 scoops per servings twice a day and will remain on that dosage for the rest of my plan. (3 scoops is tough to swallow). I tell myself it's good medicine as I drink it and try really hard not to gag or throw up. Yes. They are that bad.
So Today -
Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs
Skipped lunch
Dinner - Grilled halibut with veggies and mashed potatoes (no no tatoe!) with some tasty sparkling water and lemon
I drank lots of water today with some doTerra lemon drops too! I think the lemon really helps my body. I hope so anyway.
