July 31, 2021 Day 20
Today was a good/fun day! We had several house projects to accomplish and it really just made me realize how terrible out of shape my body is. I don't even mean strength wise, because honestly I feel fairly strong. Where I am suffering most is my flexibility and stretching. It is horrible. I tackled painting a large section of my basement on my own, while Tony re-built and expanded our pond by quite a bit! The stretch to reach corners and get down low made me instantly realize how tight my hips are! I have got to be better. Why on earth is it so hard to make time for our bodies in the sense of stretching and/or yoga time? It's super hard for me to make that time anyway. Otherwise symptom wise I felt fairly good all day! Here is what I ate:
Breakfast - 2 fried eggs with asparagus and butter
Lunch - Small left over piece of Mahi Mahi with some skinny pop
Dinner - Salad with chicken (I couldn't eat it!), broccoli
Snack - Popocorn, celery and peanut butter
Also because I want to recap for myself of the "cheats" I've had this far:
Popcorn
Peanuts/Peanut butter
Potato
Avocado (once or twice so far)
Dairy (I'm guessing there was dairy in my mashed potatoes I had over at the coast last weekend!)
I was telling my Mom last night there is nothing HORRIBLE that I have cheated with thus far and a cheat is a cheat. Some of the things I've cheated with are allowed my Patrick (such as the peanuts and peanut butter) but those were goals of mine to skip nuts all together. The dairy is probably the worst cheat I have had so far, but it was probably a very small amount given the fact I didn't even eat half of those potatoes! Corn/Corn chips and fresh made salsa as long as it is day of made, is also approved by Patrick but for the first month it's best to just not eat that stuff. I haven't done horrible by any means, but I have had some items that I should have been able to make it a month without. I'll tell you what though, peanut butter as been a life saver for me. I eat it with celery (so I get some veggie counts there) and most often it is the only food I want. For some reason I can't hardly eat chicken either. I tried adding a small bit of chicken tenders I had made last night to my salad and I couldn't eat any of it. I'm going to try to make Broccoli, cauliflower rice and another piece of grilled chicken tonight and we will see how it goes!
