Trying to think of a catchy title -
Today is the day before I embark on a new health challenge/journey. I am excited, anxious and only a little bit nervous. Tomorrow I am starting a treatment with an Eastern medicine doctor that may take up to 9 months for full results. My diet will be extremely restricted and I will have daily herbal supplements to take. The ultimate goal is to reduce most if not all inflammation in my body as long as any active infections I may have. The eastern medicine doc's name is Patrick. So when I talk about Patrick - that is who I'm referring to. Patrick's philosophy is something as simple as a mosquito bite when you are young can leave small microscopic/unwanted bacteria in your bite site and of course what do bugs do, they multiply. I've done a lot of diet challenges to reset my health and body, but never with amazing success. Even when I was in the best shape of my life, I still never really felt amazing. One big thing starting tomorrow that I have never tried before is eliminating fruit and nuts. The primary food for any infection in your body is sugar. Any and all sugar, and the only way to kill it all is to not feed it. While my goals are to obtain better health, limit inflamation and improve my gut health, I'm looking forward to the mental health excersises as well. Discipline in the diet and keeping stress levels down. I'd like to be mindful with blogging, even if they are very short and quick updates daily, but also as a way for me to remember and keep track of how I'm feeling along my journey. I'm trying to think of a catchy title to call my little journey. I'm mentally treating it almost like a pregnancy, but I can't run around saying I'm pregnant every time I'm in a social setting and start getting grilled about why I'm not having a drink. But it's about 9 months, I can't have caffeine, no alcohol, and I have to be diligent about my diet and stress for my overall health. Calling it a diet gives so many other implications, I'm not doing this for weight loss (although that will be a grand welcomed side effect), or to be on a diet it just sounds too cliché and doesn't really give this journey the credit it deserves. It's just so much more than a diet. It's more of a treatment/wellness journey. That also just sounds too cheesy. So stand by for catchy title...
